HbOT for Alzheimer’s and Dementia offers a glimmer of hope in the search for the effective management of symptoms.

Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia are crippling diseases that affects millions of individuals throughout the world.

While there is no known cure for Alzheimer’s disease or any other form of dementia, there are a number of therapeutic options available to help manage symptoms and delay the advancement of the condition.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, or HbOT for Alzheimer’s, is emerging as a promising therapeutic approach.

Please Note: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy complements conventional treatments. We do not recommend it as a replacement. If you are unsure, please consult your doctor.

What is HbOT for Alzheimer’s and Dementia

HbOT is the inhalation of almost pure oxygen within a hyperbaric chamber inflated to levels greater than atmospheric pressure.

The treatment has been shown to enhance cognitive performance and decrease the course of dementia by increasing blood flow and oxygen supply to the brain.

In fact, there have been many studies to determine the efficacy of HbOT for Alzheimer’s treatment and we outline some of the findings below.

HbOT for Alzheimer’s – The research

Three studies demonstrate that although HbOT for Alzheimer’s is not a cure, it can give sufferers considerable relief from the symptoms, delay the disease’s course and improve patients’ quality of life.

According to one study published in the journal Aging and Disease, using HbOT for Alzheimer’s treatment can enhance cognitive performance in patients suffering with the condition.

In the study, 14 individuals with mild to severe Alzheimer’s disease received 60 daily sessions of HbOT over the course of three months.

The findings showed that participants demonstrated substantial increases in cognitive function as well as improvements in daily activities and day-to-day living, thus improving their quality of life.

A study published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease investigating HbOT for Alzheimer’s treatment, found that it can reduce brain inflammation and enhance cognitive performance in mice with Alzheimer’s disease.

According to researchers, HbOT lowered the expression of inflammatory genes in the mice’s brains and enhanced their memory performance.

A 2018 case study published in the journal Neurocase discovered that HbOT can enhance cognitive performance in Alzheimer’s disease patients.

The case of a 58-year-old woman with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease who received 40 sessions of HbOT over a two-month period was documented in the article. Her cognitive performance improved significantly, including memory, attention, and executive function.
